Regarding Oregon’s budget crisis, I think this is an opportunity for us to examine what we spend public money on and prioritize.

The Legislature has never done it and will not do it — they fund what wins election; they will hide behind the governor.

I’m running for office to bring some sanity to this epidemic of addiction/alcoholism/criminal behavior. The public/legal response to addiction is half the problem. We offer our kids punishment for addiction. Eighty percent of the inmate population is [Read more...]

Elect Marvin Sannes for House District 21

MARCH 18, 2010

(Salem) Marvin Sannes of Salem announced he is seeking the Republican nomination in the upcoming May Primary Election for District 21 in the Oregon House of Representatives.

“This is a critical election year,” said Sannes. “We need to elect new leadership to take our state in a positive direction.”

The 65-year old Sannes grew up in Mt. Angel and graduated from Portland State University. He’s been married 40 years, has four children (“we lost Erick in 2001″) and two grandchildren. Sannes currently owns and manages commercial and residential property. His past work experience includes running a youth shelter and owning a pesticide application company. [Read more...]
