Transparency in Government

Our political process can be more open and honest.

I know that I can be open and honest. At 65 I have no career to develop and I am primarily interested in this process to develop my own understanding of our behavior and human nature.

When I was about 6 or 7, I came into my mother’s kitchen in a lot of trouble for something I did in the backyard. Feeling terrible and guilt and shame and fear and trying my best to be there and hide it.

Mom says: “Marvin, if you tell the truth this problem you’re going thru is going to start getting better right away.” Did I ever want this horrible situation to get better. I blurted out the truth in a rush of tears and confession and she picked me up and held me. I don’t recall the event or the consequences – I do recall the relief and the hug.

The truth, regardless, will always begin the process of recovery, whatever the situation or difficulty.
